War

I have never really thought in depth about war. But now that I do think about it it’s so hard for me to come to a decision on when war is right and needed, or completely wrong and definitely not needed. Based on my past five minutes of thinking I have come to the conclusion that there is a time for war but it is never morally right. There is never a time where it would be morally right to kill other people. War is always the lesser of two evils; for example when the Holocaust started war was needed because of what was happening to the innocent minorities but it was the lesser of two evils. The Nazis were killing innocent people and war was killing some innocent people and some not. Both of these acts were morally wrong and evil but war was the lesser of the two evils. I believe that countries have a responsibility to go to war when something bad it happening directly to them or if something bad is happening to other countries and no one has stepped up yet to help. There may be some alternatives but I can’t think of any at this moment. So, depending on what the alternative is would determine whether it is more or less effective than war.
