War
The concept of war is something that I really struggle with my opinion on. I think there is a time for war, but when that time is is a little shaky and something I'm unsure about. When the people of a country are at danger and risk of being hurt, I think that this is the situation where a government should defend its people. But then I start to think about how people fighting from our country are still people in danger and it really messes with my head. Of course, the ideal situation is that there's never any war or any need for war, but that's unrealistic. I don't know if it's morally right (I mean, what is "morally right"?) because it does take on the notion that people are supposed to die in order for other people to not die. I guess war really is just a lesser of the two evils. And although this is brutally honest, I don't think there are any other realistic, feasible alternatives. War has existed for thousands of years and will probably always exist. It makes me think of the past blog post about good vs evil. If there is truly no evil in our world, then war shouldn't exist either. I'm sure there are plenty of other blogs on here with people that have more knowledge about these sorts of philosophical issues, but this is really just me thinking out loud and saying, "I have no idea".
