War. What is it good for? I am under the belief that war is necessary at times, war can be good. Sure, millions of lives are lost and that is no doubt a tragedy, but when a power will stop at nothing to get what it wants (think Hitler and Nazi-Germany), fighting must ensue.
War allows people to start over. Its like a mass forest fire: lots of life is lost, but it allows new, healthier life to takes its place. As a whole, society is much better off after the war than when it started.
People have issues with violence, and I agree that fighting is never the best answer, but you can't write it off as an option. Brutal killing and mass slaughter scares some people, but it is what must be done at times to better society. I don't always agree with war, and the brokenness it can bring to families and countries can be devastating, but that doesn't mean it is not helpful at times.
