Yep.

My name is Paige Spragens and I think my life is much more exciting than it actually is.

My academic goals this year would be to not procrastinate as much. Which I think I’m doing a pretty good job of, despite me posting this the night that it is due.  I would like to get 5s on my AP tests; the Calculus II AP test most of all. This year I would also like to improve my people skills. I want to try harder to be able to talk to people that I don’t know very well comfortably.  My superpower of preference would definitely have to be invisibility. I’ve always just wanted people to leave me alone, so invisibility would be a great advantage to me. Although this seems to be contradictory to my previous goal of getting more comfortable with people…

What geeks me out? This answer might never end. I am either uninterested in something, or completely obsessed. Well, to start off Harry Potter, obviously. I literally have a shrine built to it in my bedroom. JK Rowling might as well be the Queen of England in my eyes. Now that this question has been set forth, I realize that my obsessions are mainly British and/or Sci-fi. Going along with that, I am also completely obsessed with the show Doctor Who. It’s hard to explain. Also going along with the British theme would be the modernized Sherlock show. It’s brilliant and I am going insane waiting for season three. I am also insanely obsessed with the Vlogbrothers on youtube. ½ of them is a brilliant YA author, John Green, whom several people on this blog have already mentioned. His books are fantastic, and so is he. They have created a community around them; Nerdfighters, we call ourselves. We don’t fight nerds, mind. We fight FOR nerds. And we are nerds. It’s basically great.

I hardly did anything, this summer, but it left a bigger impact than any other. The weekend right before school started, I went to Chicago with my best friend Annie and another close friend, Jeremy, to attend a little convention called LeakyCon. For those who do not know, it is devoted to Harry Potter. Clichéd as it sounds, it was a place where you could truly be yourself and nobody would care. In fact, we embraced it! All us Harry Potter nerds reveling in our nerdiness! The four days spent there were some of the best of my life. I got to meet famous people (or at least they are famous in my eyes), dance like a maniac to wizard rock, and belt out Disney songs with thousands of other amazing people while waiting in lines. I think one of the best parts was to watch the faces of all the other people in the hotel who had no idea what was going on. We completely took over that hotel. I am actually very proud to say that we semi-broke a chandelier from the floor beneath us from jumping so much at the Esther Earl Charity Ball. At one point, Annie and I were completely fangirling over the fact that we were merely in the same room as the previously mentioned John Green and his brother, Hank. The fangirling only got worse when Hank actually said hi to us. I distinctly remember that Annie fell on the ground after he walked away. I actually made friends, which was an amazing feat for me considering that I am highly introverted. And we’re all excitedly waiting to see each other at next year’s LeakyCon in London! I

And here is a picture of us with one of our new friends taken right before we had to leave. And yes, we all look exhausted because when one goes to LeakyCon, one does not get to sleep. Had we not been so sleep-deprived, our departure from what had become our Home would have been much more emotional.

My favorite website would have to be www.pinterest.com or www.tumblr.com or this specific youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/vlogbrothers. I could live on the internet and be happy for the rest of my life.

And on a final note, here are my friends and me being weird. As usual.
