Dropping the A-Bomb

On August 6th, 1945 the United States used a destructive, atomic weapon against Hiroshima, Japan. This bomb killed thousands of civilians in Japan. Three days later, while Japan was still in shock from the first bomb the United States released another atomic bomb upon Nagasaki. The United States released these bombs to force Japan to surrender, putting an immediate end to World War II. The United States felt that Japan wouldn't surrender unless something tragic happened, and this tactic would also cause no more United States casualties or deaths. When looking at this picture however, one must wonder if it really was the best idea to drop these bombs and ending tens of thousands of innocent lives. Just think, just before this picture was taken thousands of people were going about their daily life. Working, taking care of children, or sleeping. These people did nothing to deserve death, and all of a sudden, everything they had worked for their entire life was gone. Including them. Although I feel that this move was very gruesome, I think it was the most effective of choices the United States had. If the war had not been ended by these bombs, the debt would be devastatingly high, as well as the death toll would have been bigger for the United States. I feel sorry for the Japanese civilians, who most certainly did not deserve death (But then again, who does).
