It seems to me that if the world was really just split into good and bad, it would be a remarkably different place.
So so much of the concept of good and bad is entirely subjective--everyone has a different opinion on what is good and what is bad. Of course, there's the idea of the clear-cut occurrences or thoughts, like that what Leah Kleppinger did was right; on the other hand, people generally do what they think is right, whether or not anyone else agrees with them. This is going to be a really drastic and controversial example, but it seems to me that Hitler caused the Holocaust not because he wanted to become the person that he is thought of as today, but because he genuinely thought it was good for his country. The complete concept of good and evil is entirely opinionated (though I think we can all agree that Hitler's point of a view on that was fairly twisted in some areas).
I want to be a good person, and I try to be one. But I make mistakes, and I do a lot of things that I completely regret. I think that's just the way things are; I think it's just human nature. There's good in everyone and there's bad in everyone, even if that's a hard concept to digest.
After all, as Sirius Black (and J.K. Rowling) said, "...the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters [or bad people]."
