First off lets break down this Leah Kleppinger story. Kleppinger, who is a 30-year old woman, found a wallet with $4,600 worth in cash at a salon. She was praised as a 'good samaritan' for returning the wallet to its proper owner, who was probably some kind of male pimp (I mean seriously, what other job requires a person to have that much cash on them at one time?). All jokes afront, this takes us back to the age-old question of good an evil, and this story has nothing to do with the answer.
There are forces of good and evil, and both exist in everyone and show themselves at one time or another. Good was a part of Kleppinger and the Pimp-Wallet (book title pending) as Ms. Leah decided to do the right thing and return it without taking anything (or so we think... possible plot twist?). However, if Kleppinger had been down on her luck and was out a couple thousand bucks because of some bad late-night eBay purchases, perhaps she would have taken the wallet.
There is this little-known movie called Star Wars, it is about these Jedis and, well, its a long story. Anyway, the bad-guy-former-good-guy is leading a war over the Good Guys, and one of the only Good Guys left is actually Bad Guy Former Good Guy's son. Bad Guy Former Good Guy's Boss is about to kill Bad Guy Former Good Guy's Son, so Bad Guy Former Good Guy overtake's Bad Guy Former Guy's Boss to become Bad Guy Former Good Guy Turned Good Guy Again. The point is that there is good and bad in everybody and it comes out in different times and in different ways. The battle of Good vs. Evil will never end, although the debate about it should. We all have our halos, and we all have our devil horns, and one triumphing over the other will never happen. Humans will never be perfect, but we must continue to improve our moral conduct and avoid sin. So next time you have to make a decision between right and wrong, make sure he's not a pimp before you give the wallet back.
