Coms

Technology has changed the way we communicate as human beings. For long distance communication we no longer need travel or a letter simply a computer or cell phone will suffice and allow for almost instant contact.  These communicative capabilities have had a major impact on my life. Email, texting, Facebook, and Skype have allowed me to maintain friendships that are not bound by proximity. I have friends all over the country who I can communicate with at any moment despite the distance between us. This summer I drove to visit 2 different groups of friends, one in Georgia and the other in Illinois. In total the trips took well over 1,500 miles and 25 hours worth of driving. I could send a text message to everyone of those friends at once and it would travel those many miles in less than 2 seconds. Technology lessened the burden of distance and without it my friends outside my state and outside my county would be out of my reach.
