Try Hard? Pshhh...

I don't quite remember who told me this, but it for sure was not my parents. I do know I heard this around the seventh grade and the suggestion has stuck with me, inseperable, ever since. That advice was: "Only put in as much as you need to.", and believe me, this phrase speaks volumes to me. While my peers will spend hours and hours doing things that are NOT due the next day, I do basically everything the night previous, and put in substantionally less work. Unlike some unlucky friends of mine, I am a HUGE clutch player, doing what needs to be done just in the nick of time. The thing is I can pull this off because I am a really effective worker, I understand what I need to do, how to do it, or if I don't, how to FIND OUT how to do it. Resourceful might as well be tattooed on my back as my take on "THUGLIFE". A prime example of this is in this English class, namely on the vocabulary quizzes. I scoff inside whenever I walk in and my classmates uncover last minute study sheets of the words on the quiz, after studying all week prior; because I ALWAYS write down the words on a sheet of paper, transcribing the definitions from my iPhone, IN ENGLISH CLASS! I don't really know if this counts as putting in less work, rather than proscrastination, but whatever.
