Do you dread writing that 2 page essay for U.S History? What about that paragraph for Psychology? Or that blog post for English? While these tasks may seem difficult and annoying, and you might be a person that likes to know exactly what needs to be done to receive full credit, writing assignments can quickly change into your favorite type of assignments, but only if you change your way of looking at them.
Step 1: Write an intro: An intro is a great way to get your ideas together for what you're actually going to write. As soon as you're ready to start your assignment, just start writing about the first thing that pops into your head and pretty soon, you'll have a clear idea about what you want the rest of your paper to look like.
Step 2: Expand on your ideas: If you are hitting a major point in your essay, do not merely mention it and go on. Go in depth about your point. Doing this will not only increase the word count of your paper, paragraph, or blog, but it will also paint a clearer picture for your audience and will most likely allow yourself to know what else you will want to write about in your assignment. For example, if you are writing a paper about abuse and you are talking about animal abuse, if you go more in depth into your writing you may be able to find out that animal abusers were once abused, and have another topic to write about later in your essay.
Step 3: Enjoy your writing: The more fun you have while writing something, the easier it is to write. It may be hard to become enthusiastic about something like writing a how-to blog. But once you embrace what you need to accomplish, you will be more successful.
