It’s easy to get caught up in high school and just want to fit in, but high school should be more about finding out who you are rather than making sure you have the latest, hottest pair of jeans. The best piece of advice that I ever got was to be yourself in the midst of high school craziness. I got this advice from my sister before freshmen year and really didn’t sink in ‘til sophomore year. Freshman year I just wanted to meet, and become friends with as many people as I could, have the high school experience you see on tv. Even if that meant being someone different around everyone I met. But in sophomore year after taking a step back and realizing I really didn’t know who I was or what my true interests were or even why I put up with certain people I didn’t even like for so and so reason I realized how truly important this piece of advice really was.
