Probably the best piece of advice that I have ever received came from my dad and every time I am upset he reminds me of what he told me. "Always try your best, you cannot do anything more than your best" and while it may seem a corny piece of advice, it is absolutely true, you cannot accomplish the impossible! It is really important to know your own personal limitations, especially if you are a perfectionist like me.
Anyway, this piece of advice has really stuck with me and every single time when I am studying for a test, I always question myself. "Am I giving this my best?" or "Do I need to lay off?" are the questions I feel like I am always asking myself. I also feel like this piece of advice really comes into play when I am working too hard and I get really stressed out so that I cannot concentrate on anyone or anything besides the task at hand. Moreover, I feel like I see others to following this core piece of advice when they abuse prescription drugs like Ritalin or energy drinks to stay concentrated. It is honestly ridiculous that when those individuals are trying their best working at something that they feel it is still not enough. While it is important to succeed, there is always a limit to what one can or cannot do.
On the other hand, don't be lazy! Working hard will get you far in life and knowledge isn't everything so trying your best at everything you do will make you a better person and help you along the way. It won't always be easy, but there's no harm in trying.
