How to ask for forgiveness
Often times as imperfect human beings we make mistakes, be it leaving up the toilet seat or say forgetting about a blog post. After making a mistake no mater how grievous or common place we must either seek forgiveness or simply act as we've done nothing wrong. The morally high road which often involves some embarrassment and humbling it to seek forgiveness, but one can not simply say, "hey we cool?" To make amends one must first accept guilt. To receive forgiveness you have to accept and acknowledge the fact that you have done wrong no matter how painful or embarrassing it may be. After declaring your short comings for the world to hear you must apologize. The apology is one of the most important and difficult parts of seeking forgiveness because you may not necessarily feel that you did anything wrong or worse yet the mistakes were made mutually and you feel as deserving of an apology as them. No matter the circumstance it's better to be the "bigger person" and apologies, but be sincere and personal. Make eye contact and use a tone that conveys true remorse for mistakes and a desire to solve the problem. The final step is fairly simple, you wait. It may take seconds, days, or decades, but you have to wait it out until the offendee is prepared to forgive the offender.
