The Over-Used Advice

When I was younger, my parents said to me "Never give up." This over-used, generic, run-of-the-mill piece of advice inspired me to become who I am today (well mostly). Since I was a young'n, I have tried many many different activities form singing (chorus), sports (dance, tennis, softball, gold, soccer, and volleyball), music (recorder, flute, and clarinet), and many other things. Most of those have since been left to gather cobwebs, but throughout my participation, my parents pushed me to never give up making me successful. I continue to strive for excellence never giving up when I have a bad match or day in volleyball, a bad audition, or an impossible invention idea. My grades have also had this effect slipping by with very very close A's in a few classes at the end of the semister. Those classes started out with a bad test grade or some bad assignments. I had to work hard to bring that average up from as low as a 76% to a 91.53% studying had for the final and putting a great amount of time into the assignments. This really over-used advice, though, has stuck with me and will continue to stick with me throughout my life. "Never give up!"
