How To Do Professional Makeup
Some people may not realize it (especially guys), but applying quality makeup is a distinct process. Makeup artistry is one of my favorite hobbies and something I would consider doing on the side of whatever my job is in the future. Here’s a step by step of how you apply makeup to the best effect (because I’m sure you care so much):
- Apply primer to your face and eyelids. Once this dries, it will help the rest of your makeup stay on all day and stay shine-free.
- Apply foundation to your face, starting at your nose and moving outwards. You want to do this in circular motions to create a smooth look.
- Apply concealer to any specific spots you want extra coverage on. Using your finger creates the most coverage.
- Apply powder to your face. This will set your makeup and help prevent shine. You can use either a skin colored powder or a translucent.
- Apply blush to your cheeks. This will give your face a nice colored and rosy look.
- On your eyelids, apply whatever eyeshadow you want. Pick a light color to put all over your lid, a slightly darker color to put in the crease on your eye, and a darker/black color to put on the outer corner of your eye. Blend these colors in.
- Apply eyeliner to your waterline on the bottom of your eye, and then close your eye and draw a thin line close to your eyelashes.
- Choose your favorite mascara and apply a couple coats to avoid clumping. Don’t neglect your lower lashes.
- Apply your favorite color lipstick to your lips, and cover it with lipgloss.
- If you’re not happy with your eyebrows, take an eyeshadow several shades lighter than your brows and fill them in, and set this with a clear mascara.
