As busy teenagers, we have decisions we must make everyday, some of them small and some of them big. The best piece of advice in dealing with these stressful decisions came from my grandfather. A real class act who admire a lot, he gave me some excellent advice in response to some stress I was under at the time.
When you are faced with difficult problem or decision, you just have to look at your ACL:
A: Can you ACCEPT this situation, and overcome in it in a way that will make you a better person?
C: If you can't accept the problem, can you CHANGE it? What can you do to alter your situation to make it better?
L: When the change doesn't work, and you can't change the situation to make it better, you must LEAVE it. Unhealthy circumstances won't take you anywhere if you aren't happy, and if changes aren't beneficial you must abandon whatever the problem is.
I've used this advice in places where I've had internal conflict, and don't know what actions to take. It's a nice visual to look at and organize your thoughts on where you are in a particular situation, categorizing the problem and helping you arrive at a decision that is best for you.
