Look, I like Annie and all, but I don’t understand why she feels
the need to call me her car. I am
Jeremy’s car, and his being away at college does not change that. I even sport
a Vanderbilt bumper sticker and an old Henry Clay parking pass; Annie doesn't go to Vanderbilt, now does she? And she definitely doesn't use the expired
parking pass. I am especially not her
car because she can’t even drive by herself yet. I can’t be hers if her parents
are always in the car with her!
Regardless of what I’m called or not called, I will say that I’m
quite lucky to be able to see Lexington all the time. I really like the city,
and sometimes when Annie and one of her parents drive around just to get more
experience, I get to see even more of it! The other day we took a long way home
from downtown and ended up on Winchester Road! So exciting! Usually I just go
to Henry Clay, switch drivers, and come home. Occasionally, though, we’ll go to the
library, and that’s always fun!
Before Annie can take her driver’s test, she has to learn to
parallel park. I must admit, I am positively dreading this. Typically I trust
her enough when she drives, but this is sure to be an absolutely frightful
experience.
