Where's Waldo?

  1.      Where is Waldo, really?
  2.      If you could do anything in the world, with money not being a concern, what would you do?
  3.      What’s one thing you wish you did?
The first prompt was posed to me over the summer by one of my senior friends applying to University of Chicago and I thought it was fun, so I texted my response back to her. My answer was a bit dark, but reasonably reasonable. However, if taken seriously and as a psychological insight to my psyche it was be little weird, so here’s to a new twist.

Waldo had realized that his books on hide and seek couldn’t generate enough income for a comfortable lifestyle, mostly because the publishing company never knew where to send the checks. So, our friendly be-speckled, red and white strip wearing friend has turned his world renowned skills of hiding into the best profession possible: a high security bank robber.
He had tried to get just enough money for the next train ticket to New York City to talk to his publishers about an autobiography of being the most well hidden man in the world. However, the rush of adrenaline he felt made him realize what that his skills could be put into a more profitable use.
Waldo first tried the smaller banks, seeing what he could possibly do. He’s not a very violent person, so he never even considered using real violence to get behind the counter. He did realize, however, that a fake gun makes a world of difference when trying to convince people. He became much more daring, going to more high profile banks, and even pulled off an infiltration of Swiss Bank and made off with the offshore accounts of many renowned businessmen.
After he successfully stashed enough money to live the rest of his life comfortably, he didn’t know what do with the extra millions he didn’t need. Waldo decided to donate a part of his funds to The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too, believing in its simple message and dedication to promoting the education of children. He didn’t believe in wasting time and just simply relaxing after such an intense profession; it’s been passed along the grapevine that he’s become a part time consulting bank robber and hider.
But now he’s disappeared again, with no recent news of extraordinary feats and no autobiography published.
