On this day in history, one of R&B's greatest artists was born. In 1978 on October 14th, Usher Raymond IV was born, and little did the world know that our hearts would be touched under 20 years later. Usher has one of those voices that is like butter, it just melts through your ears when you hear it. His first album, My Way, first gave him fame on the Billboard and followed with the 4-time diamond certified album 8701. Usher's Confessions was his next album, and it went diamond as well.
But what do album sales have to do with impacting the world? You're right, it doesn't matter much. However, music can impact the world. And in the late 90's and early 00's, Usher was on top of the R&B world after R. Kelly crashed and burned (lets not go there). Usher touched millions of fans' hearts with his soft crooning and passionate love songs. Usher sings from the heart (at least he did until he sold out for pop music) and thats what makes his music so impactful. Sure, there were other more important events that happened on this day in history, but sometimes its the little things that make a person feel good. And with Usher, it wasn't necessarily always little.
