Prompt #1: If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would it be and how would you spend the day?
Prompt #2: If you could change anything about our world, what would you change?
Prompt #3: If you won the lottery, how would you spend the money?
I chose to respond to Prompt #1 because I had the hardest time answering this question and when you think about it, it is a challenge to only pick one person!
Think World War II, the London Blitz, and chaos, which man rose to the challenge to lead Britain through its darkest period in history? No man other than Winston Churchill who is probably my greatest role model and most interesting man that I could ever dream of meeting.
If we were to spend the day together, I would ask Winston to show me around Britain (impossible to do in one day, but this is fiction right?) through his eyes and perspective. I would want him to show me around London and tell me about what it felt like to be a leader in a time of war and despair in his country, but I also would like him to show me around his ancestral home, one of the oldest castles in Great Britain, probably because I love watching Downton Abbey and I am a geek for British history.
After our historical morning, we would eat at Harrod's though he would probably be surprised at how it has changed since his time, but I think that he would like the modern nation that Britain has become. We would sample traditional British cuisine and also foods from all around the former empire (yum!).
While my morning would be geared toward my historical obsessions, I would want to spend the afternoon talking about what it means to be a leader through any period because I believe that I could the most from Churchill's leadership abilities and great strategy.
Finishing up a wonderful day, we would part and I would return to my life with my dream of meeting Winston complete.
