Soundtrack: "Called You" - Cube Face - Fair Use EP (Cadence Collective - 2012)
Perhaps contrary to what one might think, there exists - somewhere in this universe or the theoretical multiverse - everything that is conceivable and some things inconceivable. All of existence is estimably infinite, and such an unthinkably large sample size guarantees things that would otherwise be statistically impossible. Some have theorized that the conditions of Earth are "just right," and this "Goldilocks Principle" is said to justify beliefs of us being the only life in the universe. However, these theorists forget that when you have an infinite number of events, all possible outcomes will occur regardless of how improbable they may seem. Therefore, it stands to reason that, somewhere in this vast expanse, there exists another hapless youth also bearing the name Henry Boone who until this moment has experienced his life just as I have. But right now he is reading what he has typed and marveling at the song linked above, questioning how such a beautiful piece of music could be produced in just the same way somewhere else. He is deciding now that maybe he doesn't believe in any of this nonsense. He is abruptly dropping his middle finger onto the backspace key, wondering if the direction of his life has really been optimal. He considers that perhaps he doesn't inhabit the universe in which Henry lives to his potential. Perhaps he is one of the infinite Henrys that must toil in absolute misery to ensure the existence of that one perfect Henry. That Henry who is not the same one considering this very idea. That Henry who is not me. That Henry who has neither the time nor the reason to ponder his own existence.
