Tristan D

Well, my name is Tristan. But I go by Tristan. I know that's the same thing, but I just always have wanted to be able to say that. I guess I'm kind of weird?¿ I'm very extroverted, as you have probably already noticed. I often take things lightly but at the end of the day I am a very aware and perceptive person and know when to be serious and when not to be.

My biggest academic goals this year are to form better relationships with my teachers and to, obviously, maintain good grades. I have skated by with mostly a's and a few b's since high school started, but this year I would really just like to have secure A's. I don't want to be a nervous wreck at the end of each semester-scared that my grade will go down one-tenth of a point to a B. My biggest personal goal this year is to become more ambitious. I want to be more of a go-getter. I've already began this goal by maintaining two jobs, but I would like to see it spread to other aspects of my life. Whether it be school, things around my house, or extracurricular activities.

The most meaningful moment of my summer has to be when I went on my family vacation. I rarely see my stepsister-which is to no surprise, as she lives nine hours away and is currently in college--so seeing her as well as my other family that lives away was a blast. This trip we went to Washington DC and to Virginia to spend time in Richmond, where my dad used to live. It was a remarkable experience. My dad lived in Virginia for half of my life, and seeing all of the places where I grew up and seeing the things that have made me who I am made me very nostalgic. My dad now lives in New York City, so I can't really say I'd rather him live in Richmond, but it was a very memorable experience to "go back in time" so to speak.

One thing that geeks me out is blogging. When people typically think of bloggers they think of teenage nerds who sit at home and play videogames and watch weird cartoons. But it's not like that. My favorite site is tumblr and that is the website on which I "blog". It sounds really cliche but it's a fun place to just share the things you like with people who have the same interests as you. I typically blog about things I find funny and therefore, for me, the website is a place for me to laugh and put me in a better mood. Here is a video from my blog.
