My name is Anna Freed, and honestly, I'm just a stereotypical nerd girl.
This year, my academic goals are to keep up my straight As and to get 4s or 5s on all of my AP tests. My personal goals are to narrow down my college choices, participate in more clubs this year, and read more books than I did last year.
The main highlight of my summer was my three-week stay in France, which was absolutely incredible. I met so many nice people, and I understand the language better than before the trip. There were many places that I visited over there that I will never forget, like le Mt. St. Michel, Paris (for the second time), and the Normandy area. If you take French, I highly recommend the Sister Cities program that sets this up! It's truly amazing!
If I could have a superpower, it would be to make the characters in books become real, because I would absolutely love to have conversations and friendships with so many of them.
My favorite website is one of my favorite cartoonist's tumblr. She draws characters from books and TV shows that I like, and she has a very similar personality to mine. I like to see the different things that she posts. http://burdge.tumblr.com/
Anyway, I'm obsessed with reading, and some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling (shocker), the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (as well as the Heroes of Olympus series) by Rick Riordan, Distant Waves by Suzanne Weyn, The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I'm currently reading the Narnia books, a couple of Jane Austen's books, Wuthering Heights, and The Maze Runner trilogy by James Dashner.
Fun fact: I'm pretty much a mizture of an 8-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. I'm extremely obsessed with Disney movies (I'm alternating between songs from Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and Pocahontas as I write this), as well as a lot of the superhero/Marvel movies (i.e. The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, the newest Spiderman movie etc).
I'm also into the Doctor Who fandom, which is a British television series. It's the most bizarre version of sci-fi, but it's super amazing.
If I thought anyone would read more of my suggestions in terms of books, television shows, or music (which I also love), I could write much more, but to save you time, I'll stop here.
Here's a picture of me with just a few of my favorite books:
