To answer the first question, I use my ipod ALL THE TIME. Probably not as often as other people but it is a big part of my Asian existence. However, because of that same Asian existence my mother won't allow me to listen to my ipod while I do homework. But other than that, I listen to it in the car, my spare time, and my itunes is usually playing while I'm on the computer, etc.
I also listen to it while I get ready in the mornings. I actually even have a "morning" playlist that plays my favorites that are usually calm and soft and just perfect to my sleepy ears (can ears be sleepy...?)
5 songs I chose that are off of my "sleepy" playlist are as follows:
1) The Ballad of Love and Hate- The Avett Brothers
2) Shame- The Avett Brothers
3) St. Peter's Cathedral-Death Cab for Cutie
4) For Emma, Forever Ago- Bon Iver
5) The Only Exception-Paramore
I chose The Ballad of Love and Hate because it's tranquil and I love love love the Avett Brothers. They're not my favorite but I do enjoy how I can listen to their lyrics and it have some meaning behind it (unlike alot of the songs you hear on the radio these days). It's one of my ideal songs to listen to in the morning.
I chose Shame because it's definitely one of my favorite songs, ever. It's another one of those songs where I listen intently to the lyrics because I just love every word. Fun Fact: Mr. Behler introduced our class to this song in a journal entry. I listened to it once and got hooked :)
I chose St. Peter's Cathedral as my 3rd choice because it barely has any words.Weird, right? A song should have words, right? Well let's remember that this is a playlist intended to get me off to a good start. This obscure song by my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND DCFC gets my attention and my brain flowin' in a sense.
My fourth choice was For Emma, Forever Ago. Just like the rest, the song is calm and just a wonderful way to get my day going in a gradual and calm way. I really enjoy how the words are kind of hidden in the song so I really have to listen to the music to get them.
My last choice, The Only Exception, was chosen mostly because I'm the type of girl who's obsessed with a sweet love story. I'm not a huge fan of Paramore, but I chose this song because it fits my playlist well and I like how it fits in my teenage life.
