Emory Parsons

I'm Emory, and people just call me Emory (well except some little kids call me Emmy or Em because they can't pronounce my name). But none of you are little kids so that doesn't really matter. I actually really love my name, and I haven't met anyone else that shares it. Fun fact: Emory is technically a boy's name and 99% of people with this name are guys! So I get to be the 1%. yay!

My main goal for this school year is to get as many A's as possible, and that means I need to start off the year very strong.  So, hopefully I did well on all those essays for this class. Another goal I have is to improve my ACT score by several points. I've been thinking about college since freshman year, and if I meet my goals this year, it will make that stressful process a little less stressful. I'm a very independent person, so I cannot wait to go to college! I would probably go tomorrow if I could. There are really only two things, I think, that prevent me from being completely self-sufficient and independent. 1. I don't have my license (which I get in two weeks!!!!  I love my car to death so this is very exciting for me). and 2. I'm under 18. So yeah...

What I absolutely love is fashion. But everybody already knows that because I never shut-up about it. Plus, people see what I wear to school everyday.  I know for a fact that I am going to live in NYC when I'm older (my favorite place in the world), and I am pretty positive I want a career in fashion. Some people might think fashion is dumb or not intellectual, but I don't really care because I love it so much.

I always tell people that I'm going to be Editor and Chief of American Vogue, but I will let Anna Wintour keep that. I will take some other magazine. Or maybe I will do something in the business side of fashion. Who knows. But I am certain that fashion and all of its beauty will always be a part of my life. I  So that is what "geeks me out", but I don't consider it geeky at all.

I'm a firm believer that traveling the world and experiencing new places is the best way to grow and learn as a person. Every time I visit a new country or city, I learn so so so many new things (and shop a lot). After cavalcading( thats a big word so I hope its spelled right) around Europe for 3 weeks this summer, I came home with worldly knowledge, amazing experiences, new friends, and a second suitcase. I also went to Fiji for a couple weeks with my friend from Louisville. We meet the most amazing people from the U.S. and Fiji. Last week I wrote a letter to a friend of mine who lives there. We did the most interesting community service. So traveling was definitely the best part of my summer!

If I could have any superpower, it would be to stop time. I would be able to get everything done in a day! but super speed would help me win all my cross country races.  My favorite website is http://pinterest.com/ because everything is just so beautiful. The clothes on this site are to die for, and I just pin stuff all the time.

This is a picture of me, Caroline, and all our Fijian children. Not a single one of them is looking at the camera. It was such a joy to play with and teach these adorable kids everyday. Fiji is such a beautiful place, and I had so much fun.
